It is estimated by experts that one percent of the world’s population holds more than 57 per cent of total global wealth. How much of this is from India?

It had been 6 decades since independence and cutting along our population we can see that 4% constitute monopolies 18% middle class and the rest comes under the so called BPL (below poverty line). This amount is about 13 times larger than the country's foreign debt. With this amount 45 crore poor people can get Rs 1,00,000 each. Even if all the taxes are abolished, then also the Central government will be able to maintain the country very comfortably.

What is to be noted here is that most of the wealth of Indians in these secret banks account is illegitimate money acquired through corrupt means. Remember Bofors and how India could not trace the ultimate beneficiary of those transactions because of the secrecy associated with these bank accounts? Details on bank accounts of these Indians will be revealed only on government’s request. We need to start a movement to pressurize the government to do so! This is perhaps the only way, and a golden opportunity, to expose the high and mighty and weed out corruption!
